A Pattern of Risk...or Not

Hello, everyone. This is my first post! My name is Dina, and I have been art journaling now for about 10 months. Sorry that my pictures are so bad of my pages—I only have a cruddy digital camera and the detail & texture really gets lost.

This entry came about from the “risk” prompt.

EDITED to add: Thank you everyone for your comments! I gessoed the pages, then painted with acrylics. Decided I didn’t like it, so I used gel medium to apply torn pieces of a dressmaker’s pattern. Then I glazed over the pattern with different glazes and paints. Finally I did the collaging and stamping. The surface is so shiny b/c I used Soft Gel Gloss medium…I actually hate that medium, so I’m trying to use it up so I can buy the Regular Gel Matte that I prefer.

The journaling says, “The riskiest thing I have ever done in my safe life of non-risks is to nurture the artist within and not listen to my inner critic—or any critic, for that matter. Soooo….I art journal. I blog. I make time for me and leave other duties undone so I can discover myself, nurture myself, reinvent myself, grow myself into an ARTIST.”
