Home Page: written down

I guess we all learn lesson every day, but for me,
lots of them are connected to my two cats. I had
grabbed an extra towel to dry my hair and forgot
to close the door, giving a cat an opportunity for
a nice catnap. It also gave us a great laugh.
Proving once again a lesson can give a good laugh.

be brave

My third and final attempt to post the picture of this LO. I can feel a learning point coming on :)

be brave

Second try at this. Hope this work this time.

This is my entry for yesterday which is a bit sad. The sticker attached to the photo says “be brave”.

There must be something in getting older that makes you neglect your own health until conditions get to the point that they takeover your life. The hidden journalling followed my talking my mum in law for a check up in the hospital yesterday afternoon. For years she has suffered from various ailments and only now sought treatment. Whilst waiting for her it made me think of my mum who did the same thing at the cost of her life.

If we don’t look after ourselves it is not just us but our loved ones that suffer.

My pages so far...

I have been really enjoying creating a little something each day and have so far stuck mainly to copying the designs that Shimelle has sent through – easier with the children still around, lol! The first picture is the cover of my album – I’ve used a 6×6 American Crafts book that you can paint/cover.

Second page is the title page – I used a prima instead of buttons but don’t think I’ll use too many more of these are they’re rather lumpy (like them a lot though!)

The first page is all about my walking boots – I wanted to take them on holiday with me (we were camping) and then decided they took up too much room…a mistake as my feet got cold. I wore them on Saturday though and realised just how much of a mistake it was not to take them on holiday.

My second page is about change – I’m not good with it but realised that day that sometimes, change is good!

I’m using a set of Daisy D papers that I got in a kit for the journal and the 7 gypsies stickers.

04 Sept Next day delivery

Ok so i know we are not the easiest to find, but when it’s your third time waiting for the delivery…....so i have started to learn to accept that whatever i do to explain directions etc, i’m always going to struggle with next day delivery…...

But i do love the headboard now it’s finally here,

More Bg papers, definately flowers rather than buttons for me and i adapted the forest gump quote from never know what you’re gonna get to….....WHEN you’re gonna get x

Sept 5th - so small

This summer my nearly 9 yo has been every inch the pre-teen with her tight jeans, cute hats, trendy boots, etc. This morning was the first day of the new school year and she wore her uniform for the first time in 2 months. Suddenly she was a little girl again and seemed to have lost at least an inch in height (must be the heels on the boots LOL). She is also very able and doing things academically and musically well beyond her years. My learning point – I must remember that she is still a very little girl.

Used a 7gypsies rub-on that says “objects may be larger than they appear” LOL.

I’ve just started a new job – a promotion at my old job, actually. It carries a lot of responsibility and depends on being organised. I am quie organised normally, but usually last minute, or 24 hours late. So I want this year to be tighter. I know I can do it, because I did it when I was working fulltime and getting my degree in the evenings. So I am depending on my gorgeous Moleskine notebooks, and building the habit of writing things down. And the lesson is true, if I do, it does, and the things I don’t write down? They don’t. QED

Forgot to add subject - Michaela's 3rd Sep page!

Sorry – you can’t add comments if I don’t put a subject title!

Thanks for all your comments so far – it’s good to get!

My simple lesson is listed on the tab that opens the journalling block: “Just say NO!” It could also have been, “Prolonged exposure to a computer is a real pain in the neck…literally!” Star Trek is celebrating 40 years next weekend, and I’ll be at the Seattle show reporting for startrek.com. I’ve spent my entire summer doing volunteer work for the show…including a blog entry a day for the 40 days counting down to the anniversary. I only have 4 more days to go…and I am so ready for this part of it to be over! I need to get away from my computer; I feel like my body is falling apart from a lack of movement. The good news is that I’ll be able to take a lot of great photos next weekend for scrapbooking!

Amy

P.S. If you know any Star Trek fans, please give them the blog address (http://startrek40.blogspot.com/). I won’t feel like my summer was a complete waste it people actually read the blog!
