I love my garden as the seasons change.

This was a hard lesson

The lesson I need to learn is to say no
sometimes. The Granddaughter of a
friend of mine had an idea, she wanted fresh
fruit in the shape of a wedding cake for her
reception. I had never seen one, but I said
sure I will do it. I spent hours working on it,
and it turned out well, but I should have said
no, I don’t know how. I never want to tell
anyone no and sometimes it’s alright to say
no. I’m going to work on that.

I laughed out loud at Shimelle’s prompt for this – just so perfect for me!! It was crop night!! I was just back to work after the break and was completely disorganised. I have only just got round to printing the photo and adding it to my page so couldn’t post til now!
I have had a really busy day playing catch up with my journal, so have several images to upload. This was my entry for Sept 11th. Hidden notes explain that the school network crashed – and just for once I could escape with a legitimate reason! Making it not MY problem for today!!

While I was on travel I had 7 days of Happiness Quotes on my blog. I decided to make those days the pages, so glad I thought of it!

I think a cake should taste as good as it looks
and I have come up with an icing receipe that
is yummy and easy to decorate with. On my
50th wedding anniversary I wanted to make my
own cake even though everyone said someone
else should make it. The large lower cake was
white cake torted with white chocolate icing and
raspberry spread. The middle and upper cakes
were lemon torts with lemon custard between the
layers.

I learned that even if I take everything on travel, that doesn’t mean I’ll work on it! Learning to journal is FUN.. keep saying that!

Halfway through the month, and it’s been interesting
and fun. I started out to see what every one loved
about this hobby. I had never done a page, so I
had no stash, but found ladies shopping in JoAnn’s
to be very nice and very helpful. The different
pages have caused me to look inside myself
and around me. Looking forward to the remainder
of lessons, this old gal has learned a lot.

Something which cheered me up on a day I was feeling down.
