Hi Everyone
Hi my name is Crystal and this will be my first Art Journal challange! I am still in the process of gathering supplies and waiting for my journal to get here. (I ordered the tall 7 Gypsies journal from an online site.) I have also been reading idea books on Art Journals I got the Decorated Page and Artist Journals and Sketchbooks. I hope to learn some techniques, so my journal dosen’t look to much like a scrapbook! I hope to get to know everyone and look forward to seeing everyones work! :)

Introduction
Hi! I’m Helene from Brooklyn, New York. I have kept a written journal for several years and have wanted to learn how to keep an art journal ever since I found Teesha Moore’s journal pages on her website. These are some of the supplies I thought I would start out with. I’m so glad the class has finally started!

Hello Future Friends!
This is my first venture into journaling. As an artsy person I thought an “art” journal would be a way of getting my feet wet without it being a totally terrifying experience. I am a 44 year old mother of two grown daughters (and soon to be one son-in-law). I am a partner is a Tax Accounting firm in Phoenix Arizona. My husband and I married after our first year of college. He was majoring in Math with an emphasis on teaching. I was an art major with an emphasis in painting. Let’s see; who stood a better chance of supporting the family! Yep—I dropped out to go to work and when he graduated I went back to school. I discovered I had an aptitude for accounting and my husband utter the soon to be prophetic line “Why don’t you major in accounting and you can do art in your spare time!” Twenty-five years later, I now have spare time! Well that’s not entirely true. In the last 10 years I have dabbled in oil painting, watercolors, pastels, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, paper arts…anything that involves creativity and color—Love Color! Here are some of my art journal necessities.

The Necessities!
Just a small sampling of the things I know will get used during this challenge. I didn’t want to show you the rest of the room because I still haven’t finished cleaning it up from the Christmas explosion.

Anyway, I’m greatful for this challenge to help get me motiviated to get up into my room and create. After Christmas, I’m a little deflated and need something to inspire. I find after I get started, I have a hard time stopping. So, here goes nothing!

Decided on journal
I just decided on my journal…I’m going to use the black page one. My husband gave this one to me for xmas 2000! He wrote in the front, so I never used the 2 front inside pages…perfect for week 1 lesson! Then I’ll pick up in the back because I still have about 36 pages to use.

Hi, I am Angie from Tennessee! I have been journaling for years but this is my first challenge. I am nervous and excited all at the same time! Here is a picture of some of my most used tools. I am sure I will be using a lot more than this though.

yep I am back and this time from the start so I can keep up! A simple start for me, personal details on the tag behind the photo. I was concentrating on the colours – black and red (and me, white despite a week at the beach!)
Looking forward to seeing everyone’s work!
Kass
