Home Page: written down

Me...what a fun first page!!

This was so much fun. I got my idea last night around midnight and couldn’t wait to start it. It was nice and quiet, no interuptions…of course this meant less sleep for me too, but I know I can’t fall asleep when I have an idea! lol

I can’t wait until the next prompt!

Assignment #2

Weeks later, I finally finished the next assignment. I thought it would never come to me. Several different artists inspired me for this design, however I neglected to write names down so forgive me for not giving credit.

shimelle urged us to “reward and emphasize the positive forces in our lives.” My husband would seem like the natural candidate, and he truly is – cliche as it seems. He urged me to make our wedding invitations and other wedding paper good by hand, and they were the first items of mine to get published. He pushed me into going where I would not consider going…albeit it was more his frugal nature it seemed to me at the time. Of course, he is my biggest fan – but it goes beyond that. He lets me live this artist life, making sacrifices for me to do so. And I am eternally grateful.

Thanks for looking.

First pages!!

Wow – am so chuffed I got to do this today, I even wrote an assignment for my Insurance exams as I was so stumped on where to start!!

I just followed the “no rule” rule and had fun, my hands are now covered in blue and white acrylic paint and for once I don’t care… I’ve absolutely enjoyed the entire process of this. The left hand side is the back of the cover, I’ve made a tag with return details on and just had fun decorating it.. the right side has some random pics of me printed on transparencies.. one is a caricature of my hubby and I and one is of my wedding day hair do!!

I’ve written some random thoughts that occurred to me when I thought about “who I am” onto pieces of card and popped them behind the pocket made by the papers…. Can’t wait for the next prompt… guess I could think about the cover now though, not entirely sure what I want to use it for so may hold off for now!

character building

OMG, the time it’s taken me to upload, I could have finished another entry!

Be gentle with me, this is my first entry – mine will all be scrapbook layouts, as I know that’s the only way I’ll get through this LOL

my week one

Hello-
Here is the beginning of what I came up with…

I am not thrilled with my library card (which has one of my favorite quotes “Now I have become myself. It has taken many years and places…” May Sarton” ) so it may get replaced. I have not put a quote in the tag on the opposite page, either.

I need to bind the edges but that will be completed at the end of the month (this is made from a large rectangle then cut and folded to make 8 pages…so if I don’t want to be sewing through to the other side I have to bind it in the end)....but it is a start and I can always add more ;)

Pat - other stuff in the book

Here is the other type of stuff in my journal…similar to Brenda’s. We’ve been trying to work on being ‘glue divas’....ha!

My First Page-Nicole

This is my very first page ever in an art journal! I had so much fun doing this! I think it’s the “no rules” thing…it’s almost like I’m allowing myself to do whatever I want, using whatever supplies, colours and pics I want!

Hayley Week 1

Hi Everyone.

I am Hayley from Lichfield, England. I did this class last time but wanted to do it again. I really enjoyed the last time. I love looking at everybody’s work. Very inspiring.

Anyway, here is my first page. Thanks for looking.

Pat's Week 1

This took a bit! I was thinking WAY too hard. Right side is words about me…like Brenda, they are what I was thinking about that day. The left side is a pocket.

I hope future lessons go quicker for me…LOL!

Pat's Week 1
