Perfect Christmas and Advent

My perfect Christmas is all about the people really – everything else is a bonus :) used lots of rubons on this page and a little Limited edition circle stamp.

My advent page has two doors that open – the doors for Christmas day and behind is a Nativity scene. The challenge to do the date in an unusual way – I tore off my December page on my calendar and circled the 5th December.

and with the doors open…

December 5

Another page that took much longer than anticipated. I do like how it turned out-not the way I had planned though.
I have some hidden journalling underneath the pictures of our wrecked Advent calendar from this year. The boys took most of the toys out of the boxes on 11/30.
On the page with the numbers, I should have started with the 24 in the top left corner but realized it right before I took the photos. I attached a large office envelope to the back of this page to hold ideas for Advent calendars I have saved. One from Martha Stewart made with baby socks, Pottery Barn’s house that I have been
eyeing, but luckily is sold out. I refuse to pay $25 more on ebay! The last idea is one from a participant of last years Journal your Christmas class. Little presents wrapped in kraft paper, with numbers stamped on them. Simply placed in a crate with a string of Christmas lights.

My advent page, used a door picture from an ATC pack I got at Ally Pally and some stuff I had from my glass painting days to make the snow effect around the door.

Day 4

This one was so fun (okay, so I think they’re all fun!). But I enjoyed photographing some of my holiday decorations for this entry. TFL.

Day 5- Count Down

I used to have an Advent Calendar for my kids when they
were at home. I still remember they always wanted to
look ahead to see what was coming. Now I just keep
a calendar of my performances. Things change as you
get older, but memories are sweet as ever.

Prompt 4 perfect Christmas

This is my entry about my thoughts for a perfect Christmas.
Pictures are from a magazine.
The ribbon at the top of the present reveals a tag with journalling which reads
“A really perfect Christmas for me is whe every-one is fit and healthy to enjoy it.
2 years ago my dad was very ill in hospital recovering from heart valve replacement surgery. Last year he was in hospital just before Christmas.
He isn’t very well at the moment and I hope he improves to be able to enjoy this Christmas.
This Christmas we will miss our best friends Julie & Neal, who are now living in Canada. Christmas and new Year was a time we celebrated together, so this year it will be a little less “perfect”
BUT
we booked flights today to go and visit them next May :)

I woke up during the night withthe rain and all I could think of was the journalling and my journal!!!
This morning I was sticking everything down whilst I was having breakfast and then realised the holes in the page were at the wrong side so had to quickly unstick and re-stick it!!!
