just my style?

This is a little late—but it’s my entry for the “what did you think you would never have in your home?” spark. It’s a little hard to see all of the “fine” detail of this little figurine—but suffice it to say that it is a bobble-head figurine of a golden retriever carrying a baseball bat in his mouth. Here’s the story—journaling reads:

Just my style? (never in a million years would i have ever imagined…)

Let me start by saing that I have never been a bobble-head figurine-loving kind of girl. Not by a long shot. That is, until Tom came home one day last summer with THIS. Chase the Wonder Dog. For those of you who may not be familiar with Chase, he’s the Little Leage bat dog. He’s a golden retriever. And I love him—for what he represents.

Now you may be asking yourself what so important about what he represents. The answer to that is simple. He represents gratitude and appreciation. He represents love. We spent a good chunk of time last summer watching the Little League championships. Actually, more than a good deal. A ton. This is a gift from Tom—for being a good sport about watching all of those games.

For now, he stands proudly on my kitchen counter—out there for all to see. He is a great reminder every day that the little things I do for Tom are noticed. They are appreciated. And in return, my appreciation for bobble-headed figurines has grown. Probably not to the point where I will want more than one—but definitely so that I truly love this special one.

The background was painted with a dry brush—kind of a sage green color. Then I painted off white with another dry brush on top of it. Stamped the “style” title with green paint and foam stamps, added the rest of the title with my own handwriting and rubber letter stamps.

Glued down the picture of Chase the Wonder Dog, then printed out journaling strips on light blue gingham paper. Glued those down next. The around the edge of the page I wrote down the things that Tom has thanked me for (For spending time with me. For watching what I want to watch without complaining. For being interetested in what is important to me. For being by my side. For being fun.)

TFL!
