Release the creativity

Hi I’m Jamaica, I’m a perfectionist. The problem is, it’s starting to get in the way of my creativity. My goal here is to quiet that inner voice saying it’s unbalanced, it doesn’t flow or the colors aren’t working together. To get beyond the straight lines and need to make it all perfect. So here I am… trying to learn how to LET GO. Wish me luck and if you notice in the coming weeks that I’m still trying too hard, please feel free to remind me that it’s okay to be sloppy, to have typos and to paint over pictures. : )

I wanted to have pages of thick, creamy paper that weren’t bound so tightly I couldn’t add tons of junk to my pages so I went to the local art store and bought a few large sheets of artist’s paper (watercolor I think) which I’ve torn down to 7.75” x 7.5”. It is heavy and soft, I love the way my Zig markers write on it. When I’m done I’ll either have it bound or maybe find an 8×8 to put them in. I’m planning to date and number the pages in pencil on the back so I can sort them later.

Hope you’re all having a lovely week!
