Cover -- Finally!
well, here it is. I was determined to try LOTS of new things in this art journal, but why, oh WHY did I pick stuff that needs to DRY??
Basic heavyweight watercolor paper book. I ripped off the flimsy cover and used page 1 as the cover. Painted it dsark green, then crackle glaze, then MM celery paint. Lovely, but that took a day.
The image is from one of Nick Bantok’s books (The Museum at Purgatory), scaned then printed on Lazertran paper—fiddly to slide something so whispy and not-square off the transfer paper and adhere it. Gotta love a rubber brayer :-)
It’s called Artistic Expression and experimentation. Title cut from Basic Grey (sloop script) and MM foam stamps. A few odd stamps scattered about (only ones I’ve never used before!).
Time To Play is stamped in green. I have an image from Teesha Moore’s site as my avator on some groups and the caption is Let’s Play (because, I think, one of her ‘zines is called PLAY) and it seemed so appropriate on many levels—the journal is for PLAY, not work, finding TIME to do it will be hard, and when I open it it’s TIME to PLAY!
God only knows if I’ll manage to get this posted. I’m no Luddite, but I tend to get in a groove and adding new technology takes some time sometimes.
