Amy's Title Page

I posted this to the mailing list but thought I would post it here, too.

“I spent more time on this than I had planned, because I ended up trying new (to me!) techniques. I’m not counting the horrendous amount of time it took me to get all the embellishments out of the Heidi Swapp Costco kit…she needs to hire new packaging engineers! Seriously, I about stabbed myself with a knife several times. Okay, so for the new (to me!) techniques:

1) My husband was out back putting a metal mesh over a drain pipe, and I was helping him clean up. I saw a small piece of the mesh and asked him if I could keep it—I knew I could find a use for it while scrapbooking! So, I painted my chipboard “I” white, let it dry, placed the mesh over it, inked a sponge with green and went to town! I know it’s difficult to see in the small image, but it is a nice subtle pattern of green circles. It makes me happy.

2) Believe it or not, I have never printed on ribbon before…well, you may believe it after seeing what I did. Next time I won’t use such a thick font on a small ribbon. So, I used my computer to print on small pieces of ribbon (“Oh, this learning, what a thing it is. ~Shakespeare” and “September 2006”). I also printed the “is for Inspiration” tag.

3) I love metal on my pages and use staples all the time, but this is the first time I’ve used clear embellishments. I love them!

Thanks for looking,
Amy”

Amy's Cover

This is my cover for the Heidi Swapp album. I’ve been wanting to use this Scenic Route paper, so this album makes me so happy!

OK, so I have to apoligize for flooding the gallery – I just got caught up and did my first 3 pages today, and figured out how to post them.

Hi everyone, I’m Heather and I live in South Florida – where we are dodging hurricanes left and right!

I couldn’t find the “I” sticker sheet, so I’m going to use a combination of D, P, and R. The papers are from a Self Addressed kit from March 2005 (that’s not a typo – I’ve got several of these kits that have been sitting on my shelf for more than a year!)

I think I’ve got this posting thing figured out!

Trying to stick to the examples and make it easy on myself.

I’m not sure why that extra 10% seems to make such a difference – it was only an extra $.69 – but still!

The Ladies of Shimelle,
Thank you for sharing all of your beautiful art journal pages. I love having a whole community supporting each other for this month long journey.

1 September

Like a few others, I am doing yesterday’s learning on today page, so to speak. This is Shimelle’s 2 Sept page design, reflecting on what I learned on 1 September. It is kind of a negative, because it has to do a tense and tiring situation at work. It is postive though too, because I feel that I have finally laid the situation to rest. I have learned that I cannot change her, so all I can do is be me. And I am not a mean girl!

Chatterbox paper, stickers and flower.

Deal with post when it comes...

Today I spent one and a half hours looking for a letter that I had put somewhere safe over the school holidays. I need it for school tomorrow. Of course if I had not convinced myself that it was in a brown envelope, I would have seen it the first 10 times I looked in the pile of papers. Will I ever learn?

The quote I used from the sheet is “As long as one keeps searching, the answers come.”
