Day 1 - Beginnings

So here’s my day one page to journal the start of my advent calendar ritual (I just love having an advent calendar and will never grow out of that!) and my nameday, which is December 1st in the Polish calendar based on my birth date.

Bigger pics and journaling are on my blog

And I better get moving tomorrow with prompts 2 and 3! Eeek!

Something different

Thought I’d break up all the snow pages ( they are gorgeous and I am envious) and post my sunny page!

Journalling reads:
Christmas to me is HOT………
When I think of Christmas I think of steaming hot days and not being able to get cool. I think of sweat and discomfort. Surprising really when many of my Christmases have been cool.
Every second year we visit my family in Adelaide and the weather there is often cool I have spent more Adelaide Christmases in a jumper than in a T shirt.
When we stay home we can be guaranteed of heat. So often we have been relieved to be away when we hear how hot Christmas day was. When we are home we are lucky enough to be able to cool off in our pool. That really helps. Air conditioning would help more though!
Of course we always have ice cream on Christmas Day !

Day 1 - Why I am doing this

I wrote this yesterday but didn’t do the page until tonight.
used some of my stamps for inspiration to handraw – something I am loving doing, just need to think of my own designs which I am hoping will happen doing this journal.

Manifesto page

2nd of 3 pages completed tonight. Decided to keep the wording the same as I thought it was just right for me.

Front cover of my journal

I am a little behind as I have just made the front cover of my journal tonight, but am pleased with it.
Used bazill cardstock and cut to 8”x6” thought this was a nice size and shape to include enough journalling and some embellishments.
Background paper is PaperLoft well worn and the monogram from the same range and covered.
Hand drawn holly and pressie, stickers for lettering and stamped 2006.

Really enjoying doing thid and going to make a huge effort to keep up!!!!!

Day 2 - Snowflake Journal Entry

I cut the snowflake from a photo I took of our house yesterday. Added rhinestones and silver ink for embellishment.

Text reads: “I have never been a fan of cold weather. In fact, it makes me feel chilled to the bone and miserable! But I am always in the mood for a good snowfall at Christmastime. Even here in the midwest, though, it seems we rarely have a fabled “White Christmas” or even a good December snowfall. So imagine my surprise when we received 16 inches of snow on December 1st! What a way to kick off our first Chrismtas season in our new house. I enjoyed going for a walk in it and watching the girls play, but somehow the snow seems even more beautiful form the inside of our warm house!”

And then at the side: “I love the way SNOW reflects the LIGHT inside of my house.”

The poem, “First Snow,” was written by my great aunt exactly 25 years before the snowfall in this picture.

Let It Snow

I loved today’s prompt. For me Christmas has to be – just has to be – cold and frosty. I would LOVE to have a white Christmas but as we hardly every get snow any time of year I guess it is unlikely.
Nothing to stop a girl from dreaming though

day 2.

the weather outside is never very frightful here in AZ. short sleeves, sun shining. its the best time of year to be outside.

Christmas Journal Entry #2

I like how this one turned out. Then again, I’m a big fan of shiny, sparkly things.
