Testing

I signed up…got my journal in the works and received my journal prompt for the week today. Can’t wait to get this site figured out and posting. Hopefully will have something to share soon. Lovin’ everyone’s work. Keep sharing them please!

Help with my gammar

I have a question for all those out there…I need a little grammar lesson. When you are using quotes from movies, who is the proper person to attribute the quotation to…the actor or the character in the movie?!? (I am totally a “visual learner”, so any “visual” on how to do it properly would be fantastic!)

Thanks in advance!

Heres trying again…...........

First page

Thanks for looking and hope this works. Picture is me in a mellow mood.

Uncensored

Have managed a page 2 today. Just playing with different things at the moment to see what I like best – first page used all inks, this page uses acrylic paint and ink. Felt like using some different lettering other than my handwriting so went for letter stamps and dymo. Just a few musings on the fact that I want to be able to write what I feel in this book instead of what looks good – the word ‘uncensored’ set me off – I think it was in Cathy’s entry, and I went from there. These first two pages have been more simple than I thought they would turn out – I am trying very hard not to fuss about and ‘perfect’ them too much as although I want the pages to look good, I want to get the words down more at the moment.

Today's SPARK

I had a lot of fun with this! I used an old typewriter that my mom recently bought me at a garage sale. It was fun to use. Thanks for looking!

Journaling:
I stand up and the first book I see is Miffy and Friends: Hide and Seek. Ok, this cracks me up because this book says so much about my life right now, children’s books are my main source of reading material. This is the first time I’ve used this wonderful old typewriter my mom bought me at a garage sale. It’s so awesome and I’m amazed at how well I can type on it. It is bringing back a lot of memories. I also am loving the sound of the keys. Ok, back to the main topic… The second book I pick up after changing directions is Living Out Loud by Keri Smith. I love this book. But this represents how I just have to have something and then I don’t follow through. It also represents my never ending quest to be creative and let go. Sigh. So I change directions again and walk to my desk, but I don’t see any books, if there are any books on this desk it would take years to find it. What a unbelievable mess. No wonder I can’t get anything done. I turn and look on my shelves, which are in pretty good shape, because everything is on my desk (tee hee), and the first book I see is How to Photograph Your Family by Nick Kelsh. This is a great book. I really want to be a better photographer. I would love a new camera, but I don’t know if I want to spend the $$$ on one and then I’ll have no more excuses. Hmm, decisions, decisions. My photography has gotten a lot better since I started scrapbooking, but I don’t really understand f-stops and all of that stuff. I’ve messed around with David’s old Pentax slr, the classic student camera and I’ve takend some great photos, but if I’m being honest the good shots were pure luck. This was a great SPARK and a fun thing to get written down.

Saying Hello

I haven’t actually made anything yet, but I’m reading all the entries avidly and am really looking forward to getting started.
I am not a big journaller and many of my scrapbook pages contain nothing more than a name and a date, so this is a big leap for me.
I have already been influenced by what I’ve seen, I am off to a crop this weekend, and am sitting here typing up journalling to take with me. Normally I would say ‘I’ll do the journalling afterwards’ and then those layouts would sit in my album forever blank, so this is a big step. I’m also finding I have more to say then I ever imagined.

Thanks Shim – this course has got me really excited!

My Journal Cover

My Journal Cover was interesting to do. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted on the front. I have no problem making what should go inside, it was just the cover that was throwing me a bit. I hate wearing my glasses in pictures and usually take them off, but decided that this is me right now, so there you go… More on the eye story in my journal.

A Blast!

I had so much fun this afternoon creating and experimenting with my paints! I do not have a lot of time, but I was able to steal away an hour while the baby was napping and kids were at school. It felt so good to relax, to change and experiment and above all to not worry about the outcome. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am so pumped and excited about this project. I am so pleased with what is occurring with my journal cover can’t wait to get back to it and hopefully post this weekend. Until then I will continually check back to see what everyone else is doing….can I say you all are amazing!!!

making my own journal

I thought I would make my own journal. Might be a step too far. LOL. Does anyone know of a site where I can find instructions? I bought some watercolour paper just in case but I have a journal I can use if this goes very wrong.
