Cover

This is the cover of my art journal. I am considering this art journal my creative evolution (hence the title).

Part of what I would like to evolve is my use of color. I love color but then to be timid when using it (you’d never know it by this cover, lol). My grandmother used to say “begin as you mean to go on”...so, I did ;-)

Week 1, Version 1.3

My response to the midweek spark. I love books, I could probably do a whole journal or two about them.
Week 1, Version 1.3

Midweek thingie.....finally!!

So, this is my second attempt at this, I HATED my first go. And I know we’re supposed to be embracing imperfection here but this was so far past imperfection it was orbiting the planet complete rubbish. I tried going for brighter colours and it was just not me. So here’s a much more bookish (I think) brown and green affair. And, yes, a little pink snuck in there. Thinkin’ I have issues with pink. It’s just soooo pwetty!

Chalk, acrylic, ink & pencil background. I’ll get the hang or this watercolour yet…....

Midweek Spark - Books

Moved to 2 pages for this one and still ran out of room! It’s also an exercise in my search for the perfect black pen, lol! Not too happy about the different styles of black pen-ness but c’est la vie, hopefully I’ve found one that I’m happy with now! All about me and books…I could have written a book about it really. Photo is part of one of my bookshelves. I did actually experiment with doing this ‘out of the house’ and started these pages at my crop yesterday…didn’t manage to finish it off due my serious chatter problem but I DID borrow several stamps from a friend so these pages must look a bit different than if I had made them at home.

my page 3 ... im on a roll

I couldnt sleep last night. Got out of bed super early this morning and worked on this page. I think I like it. The circles represent all of the things with juggle on an everyday basis. Almost like a juggleing act.

Journal Cover

My cover is uncomplicated and is a reflection of how I want to feel…

OMG…I’m out of control. I was afraid by looking at other peoples stuff I’d somehow be influenced an mine wouldn’t be my own. Not the case, seems I do have my own style. This is amazingly fun and liberating, I so need something like this to get my creative juices going. Can’t wait till monday. Here’s my page 2!

When I was preparing for this page. My husband began to clean off the “other” desk in our computer room. Where everything gets thrown, and piled. He revealed Organized from the Inside Out. How perfect to demonstrate I don’t normally read books I own.

newbie here.

First let me say, I wonder how many times this has been posted. I hope not too many. . .

Anyway, I am so happy to be a part of this group. I signed up a little late, just last week, so I am just getting around to picking up supplies for this project, but I worked on something in the meantime.

This was just some stuff that I was wanting to try and to ‘get out’. I really love the pink piece, but I feel like the other isn’t quite ‘done’. I am looking forward to sharing more work (that is actually prompted by the class) soon.

I’ve been checking out the website pretty regularly, and I am so inpressed and inspired by all of the pieces that I’ve seen. Again, so glad to be here.

I need to learn to enjoy all of the little things we take for granted more. Our world is beautiful. From the smallest of creatures to the biggest of trees.

I feel good about it :) I’m hoping this challenge will help me get through a time of change for me, professionally and personally, and to help me get a little more creative in my scrapbooking and at work. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you. I’m already enjoying the art!
