Home Page: written down

Skating in at the last moment...

It’s been a crazy week (aren’t they all?), but I finally finished my first couple of pages for this week’s challenge. It was so much fun! Lots of playing with metalic copper paint over patterned paper, stamping, and just letting the writing flow. I’m still a little stiff… I know it will take me a while to get comfortable with the idea of no rules… but given how much fun this was, I’m looking forward to the challenge.

intro page

i completed my intro page. i wasn’t completely happy with it at first, but the more i look at it the more i like it. :) i hope to become more free in creating future pages!

First Page
I learned an important thing today-how to read directions! I like to try to blunder my way through, but discovered that the well written directions I receved in an email were essential to success here. So, hopefully this works better than the first try. Thanks for looking, it’s so much fun to have some pressure to get something done instead of looking at books, rearranging art supplies, and looking online at other people’s work.

So: yesterday my laptop froze and required all-day to thaw.. Which meant I had offline time to make pages…
Though I am a bit concerned about my Tiggerishness in posting all four, I will, anyways…
I can’t imagine why it never occured to me previously to work this way…I enjoy it mightily.

Thank you. xxx x xxx

I don’t have any idea if my photo will be attached to this writing, or if they will be completely separate, but hopefully this will get easier as we go along. It’s so interesting to me that it seems that everyone’s inner critic says the same things. Hooray for us that we’re ignoring that voice and forging ahead, daring to put ourselves “out there” in the world.

At last! First Journal Page

At last I’ve got my first page – I didn’t plan it at all, I just wanted to get something down and when I started, I found I just couldn’t stop! I probably could have gone on and on for pages. I don’t think it’s a great masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, and it didn’t take long to do, but it felt GREAT just to get it all out onto the page. The power of the written word!

Cover Finally

Here is my cover photo. I hope that it uploads correctly. I am getting a late due to technical difficulties. I won’t give up just yet though. (Crossing fingers this posts) Thanks to Shimelle for putting up with my pestering emails!

I’m happy with my cover which is one of the reasons that I’m doing this. I need to quit worrying that I may make a creation that I don’t like. Do you hear my perfectionist tendencies coming out? I tend to get stuck often because I am affraid I won’t like my work.

Does anyone if Mod Podge can be used over photos that have been printed by a lab? I plan to start taking my journal with me to work on it at other places and would love some protection on it.

My first page

I’m not sure what I want to do as I have never done anything like this before. I got my mum to help me do a digital page and printed it out. The photo is from church youth camp last summer. hoped you would get the joke about no idea ( no eyed deer). I chose the background because I like rainbows.

First page

My first page…so fun just to do what i felt like doing! My stamps and paints and ink will be getting a workout ;-) Again, just going with the flow color wise and using what i want to use, not worrying how it will look. Well, that isn’t a hundred percent true…i worried about using the red with the green (would it look like Christmas?). I really like how it turned out…don’t even mind my handwriting!

Intro Page

OK, did the intro. I tried to keep it in the same theme as the book cover. But after this, all bets are off!
