"homes" entry

I think this was from last weeks prompt… I’m getting behind and can’t keep it straight anymore, lol! I used the painting a picture technique, I thought it was a lot of fun. My husband thought it turned out really cool and my kids kept asking me why I was doing it?

And I’d just like to add – I am really enjoying this class and am inspired by everyone. I wish there was more time in the day to comment on eveyrones works… everyone is doing an incredible job. Thank you for sharing with all of us!

week 5 page - alliances

I really enjoyed doing this page. For me, my biggest alliance is with my husband. I am so lucky to be married to the most incredible man in the world. We have a wonderful strong marriage. We’ve always seen each other true partners in life and that together we are a team. We got married just before I turned 21 (he was 22) and we knew that the odds were probably stacked against us. I’m sure the statics show a high rate of divorce among people who get married at such a young age. At that young age, you are unsure of so many things in life, but the one thing we both knew for sure is that we wanted to build a life together. Most people thought we were getting married because we “had” to (which was not the case). They couldn’t understand that how at such a young age we KNEW we were meant to be together. We knew that other people thought we wouldn’t last, but we honestly did not care. So here we are almost 12 years later and we are stronger than ever. We have had our ups and downs and faced lots of obstacles and challenges along the way. But the one thing that has never changed is the feeling that together we are a team. It sounds cliche but we do honestly believe that together we can do anything!

Week 5 : Alliances

This was a simple entry – white paint, an image, black marker.

The term, Root Love, was recently read in the published art journal of Sabrina Ward Harrison – “Spilling Open” is the name of the book. I liked the term, but wanted to use it to symbolise the best relationship in my life, with my husband. He is the root while I dance around in the treetops.

I also was contemplating doing an opposite page with leaves or similar, as I wanted to have a balanced spread showing this balance (ying/yang or up/down in my case). Along came Shimelle’s midweek spark, and this fit the need entirely, so I’ve managed to produce that as the contra entry to Root Love also.

Midweek Spark : me, today, quick

The contra entry to root love.

sunday.

sunday.
i don’t know if sunday is the end of the week or the beginning. i mean, i know its really the beginning. but in my head. i dont know which it is. sunday. i love sunday. my very first thought was sunday. i think i love it so much, cause i get to take a huge nap all afternoon. i love it. and then of course i am not tired at normal hours, cause i slept all afternoon, so i stay up real late. i love that. i love the alone time, when no one is around. where i can finish up the stuff from the week before and get a head start on the week to come. first sleep. then prepare. sunday.

Risk 3&4

Magic Mesh, magazine cutouts, Zig and Sharpie markers, swirl wire clips-unk, Vreative Imaginations money stickers.
Journaling: I DONT SMOKE-Never have, never will-disgusting! I DONT THROW AWAY $-Not into gambling too much I DONT HAVE ANY TATS-Though I think some are damn cool, like Angelina’s! If I ever got inked it’d be my own design that way it’d be unique to me only. But to this day, I’ve never sat down to sketch one, so it’ll probably never happen. I don’t want one when I’m 80.

Risk

Risk-Magic Mesh, Robins Nest pp, magazine cutouts, Zig and Sharpie markers, brads and wire.
Journaling: I think that I take a lot of risks in my life. To some, probably not enough, to others, probably too many. Since I had to think about it, I’ve gathered some risky habits I’ve developed or experienced so far: *At least 1C of coffee or 1Can of Pepsi a day-damaging teeth and stomach. *Drinking and walking in heels. *Tanning-I lot the sun-melanoma. *Hot irons on my hair-causes split ends. *Makeup risks *Fashion risks…

Wheels

Wheels-Distress Ink-Vintage Photo, acrylic paints, sharpie markers, memories flower brads, magazine cutouts, zig markers, leaves-unk.
Journaling: My wheels are spinning right now. Living in a small townhome community, it’s almost a competition @ whose place looks the best ie. interior decor, cars, garages, backyards, and front door steps. I’m in the middle of figuring out what to do w/my backyard. Do I want grass, if so how much? Do I want plants, if so what kind? Do I want bark chips, stepping stones, springking system, low/high maintenance. Ahhh One neighbor has a deck now w/a gazebo. The other neighbor has a garden. What do I have? Weeds In Clay! Whatever I decide to do, I need to do it soon!

Beginnings 2&3

I used acrylic paints on the background then kind of white washed them. Mostly magazine cutouts and black and silver Sharpies, Zig markers. I used my fingerprints on both pages. Letter stickers are from Target $1 bins, L is from a craft store going out of business. Not sure on the frame.
Journaling: A Great Flame Follows A Little Spark-Dante. Save the moment, My Journey, Today, Defining Moments, The Simple Things In Life. Springtime always gets me back on track after a long, cold winter, I’m ready to bloom like all of the garden flowers. I’m aching to feel the sun on my skin, wear tank-tops and flip-flops and let the warm breeze dry my wet hair. I love taking drives either through the canyons or open fields w/my sunroof open and listening to music. Everything is coming alive, thriving from the weather. This art journal is @ least 20 weeks of my thoughts recorded and created as my new project.
