great combo

i thought of two things when i heard this word. 1- david. 2-war. we have these people that we keep on our side. that we associate ourselves with. let me see if i can explain this. its almost as if david and i are one state, and my sister and her husband are another state, and so on. and together we form a state of the union, or a country, or an allience. we stick together in everything we do. and from there we associate with our friends, we can call them other countries, and they are our alliences also. so all together we make up something like, i dont know a united nations. does that make sense? i think it does. it all begins in our individual homes and spreads from there. we all need alliences and reinforcement in this life. it can be a rough world out there, but some how we battle on and together we can really make some great combos.

Ren and Stimpy...anyone?

When I saw this assignment I thought I’d be all serious and get all geeked out on LOR quotes. I was so ready to, I am right there with you Shimelle, we’ve watched all of them in the extended versions and seen them all on opening night at the theater….true geeks. We went there with star wars too. But instead….I got even more geeky and went cartoon geek!

I love this….man we used to love Ren and Stimpy! Now we have to love whatever the kid loves. But we can because we are both major cartoon geeks. Love them.

favorite day

Ok so favorite day….since I am now doing the mail art class now too…I’m trying to keep it simple. So this is truely simple!

Home for real this time!

I tried posting this a second ago, and it was the wrong picture…well heres my home page…I hope.

Home

When I decided to not try to plan this stuff, it happens more freely, it may not be exactly what I thought about in my head. I just start grabbing stuff around me and just make stuff happen, and heres the result.

It’s not as busy as I thought I wanted it, but it’s fine.

Oops…wrong page….

Round and Round I Go...

Which assignment I post I don’t even know! In keeping with my traditional tardiness I am posting my creation about circles/wheels/cycles/revolve…I can’t even remember what week this was. Anyway, after much thought, many changes…this is what I ended up with. The cycles of my life, the gears in my mind, time passing, the paths I choose, the expression on my son’s face and the complications of the unexpected would all spin me out of control if I didn’t have the containment and the grounding of each days’ routine. The cycle that repeats with the beginning and ending of each new day gives me a familiar reference point from which I can safely regroup. There’s always tomorrow, next week, etc….. The crown and the ambien help too.

Midweek Spark

I really had fun with this one.

I took a clipping from a magazine and then painted it with watercolors and then put a cut out of an orchid in her hair. Then I answered most of Shimelle’s prompts around her head. Lots of fun! All watercolors and my zig pen. The key and musical notes are vellum, and there are some stickers here and there from my stash.

Thanks for looking! Can’t wait to see what everyone else does with this one.

The Goal Here is Growth -Week One

*The goal here is growth*
I had an amzing time making this. This is my first entry..I am a bit behind but I am OK with that. I started with white piece of cardstock and then took watercolors and painted it, wiped it with water and did it again until I liked it. I used foam stamps, mailbox stickers, and the ‘goal’ is done with stickers with hot pink foamy paint over the top of it..I love the little wings the most and the fact that I didn’t mind swirling paint on my picture…Tonz of handwritten journaling…And my favorite quote ever “Imagination is more important than intelligence” which is from my guy, Einstein.

holding hands

For this week’s challenge – I immediately thought about my husband (as many others did as well) – a very important “alliance” in my life. I took a photo of our hands – then enlarged the image and cut the hands out – when I was experimenting with the enlargements – I inverted the colour in Photoshop on one of the images and it came out blue – I cut this one out as well and put one behind the other – you can’t really tell they’re hands – but I liked the effect – a b&w photo of our 4 children are in middle of our hands – I found some flowers from a magazine and used them as my background – and used a lime green water soluble oil pastel in the corners and around the edges of the page.

What I thought that I would never have in my House.

I am behind…dang vacation to Florida…hehehe!!! Here is my entry for what I thought that I would never have in my house.

Second page

I used black watercolors for the background, green paint on bubble wrap to create the crinkly circles (love this technique!), White Acrylic, White Gesso, Black, yellow and green oil pastels, rubons, stickers and my own handwriting for the journaling.
