Week 13 ~ Queen of Clutter-Free
Random bits of scrapbook paper and Ma Vinci stamps on this one. I’m sure the journaling is not readable; It is just me complaining about clutter.

Well, this is my first entry that I have shared. I joined pretty late so I figured I would jump right in today with my entry for this week. I have been having a lot of fun with my journal and I am just trying to get the hang of it all!

This scan didn’t come out well due to all the 3D elements but the pictures are done on fabric using fabric crayons. The figure on the left is the “disapproving mother” and she is saying “Bake Pies? Pies? Pies? You want what? Be Realistic No pies! No one ever got famous baking pies.” In attitude girl’s corner it has a pie on one side and an axe on the other showing her choices were something creative or destructive “weapons of mass destruction” or “Pies” She chooses “Pie Creations—Me and My pies will survive!” Thanks for looking!

Week Twelve – decided for this “column/lists” prompt I would COMPLETE one of the mid-week sparks sent to us at the beginning of June where we were asked to play a fast-paced response game. Used some “pro/con” paper – an image from a children’s book – and water soluble oil pastels.

Week Eleven – I took up soccer AGAIN this year after a VERY long break—a 30 year break. Inspired by my 2 young daughters who play and some good friends – I joined an all-age women’s team – ages ranging from 17 to 47 – my body may not move as fast and I feel the aches and pains more – but I’m having fun. Following from Shimelle’s talking about darning – I wrote “DARN IT i’m having a ball”. Used paints, stamps, soccer images, some screen (sewed it on my page) and tissue paper.

I love the way the paint on the photo came up….
thanks for looking and for all the encouragement, I am loving this journey more by the day.

I did two entries about risk – one altered a photo (OK so I just painted on the photo…) and the other was entirely in pencil – 2B and 6B leads actually.
TFL.

As a newly-added participant in the Art Journal Challenge, I decided I would jump in wherever the group was and then fill art in for the missed weeks whenever I could. Well, I’ve got to love the serendipitous irony in life because the topic for my first challenge happens to be one of the hardest things for me to do in my creative life…complete things!!! Oh well; this entry is my take on being a work in progress, otherwise known as being “completely incomplete…”

I made this using things from my scrap drawer. I started at the bottom left part of the page and added pieces like a game board. I tried to just kind of ‘blurt it out’ and not put too much thought into it. I put some acrylics over the top to blend it all together. The writing says: “All of these things together means something alltogether different than all these things alone” Thanks for looking!

This is the cover I just completed of my art journal. I used July 13,2005 idea of the Autumn Leaves Designing With 2005 calendar as the inspiration. I haven’t written anything inside the folder yet, which opens up.

I also made the book mark as suggested on that calendar page.

This is the inside front cover of my Art Journal. The quote is from a Scenic Route scrapbook paper.
The acrylic “imagine” piece was clear and it was hard to see the word. I rubbed black Staz-on ink on the back of the acrylic piece and then used a white gel pen to rewrite over the word & it shows up much better.
