A little behind and trying to catch up…
Having just taken a class with Shimelle this weekend, I was in the right frame of mind to use ribbon and a flower on my entry. Not something I normally do.
Used some Creative Imaginations letter stickers, a Sticker Studio sticker, and a sticker of a Steinlen painting.
IRL the blue border goes all the way around the page. My scanner cut it off. Thanks for looking!
ok, well i guess this is for the IRK challenge. it irk’s me that i can never create balance in my day to day. that its usually about 97% to 3%. that i never take the time to sit back and relax. to stop. its hard to get that balance between work and play, between life and all the other stuff. so i just wanted to try to express that here.
what’s on my mind? sometimes absolutely nothing. i’ve slacked a bit on my AJ – (total understatement i realize) – so i’m taking baby steps to get myself going again…
wanted to keep it simple – used acrylics and gel medium for the background – a picture of me doing a handstand – the words are around the theme of stand by me – Support…Treasure…Assist…Nurture…Defend.
It says: For the longest time she had wanted a little diamond freckle on her nose, but she thought the world was saying “That is a stupid idea”. She thought she heard: “You are neither pretty enough nor ugly enough to get away with one of those”, and, “Why would you want to draw attention to your nose?” and, “What would people think?”. So.. she didn’t do it. Somewhere in the back of her mind a little voice whispered things like “Who says you are not pretty enough?” and, “Why do you care what people will think?” and, “What is wrong with your nose, anyway?”…and the little voice grew louder and louder until she couldn’t ignore it any more… and on that day… she got one.
OK, I’m waaaay behind in the challenge, so I decided to start working backwards. This is my stand page. It’s pretty simple. I used some Wendi Speciale stamps along with a Stampin’ Up alphabet set too.
Simply says “I will be myself no matter what. I will never agains be what someone else wants me to be.” and Goddess Bless. I used lots of layers of acrylics and sanded and rubbed some off. TFL!
My page is about taking a stand to be yourself and living passionately. I just love that Gavin DeGraw (think that’s his name)song about “I don’t want to be anything other than what I’ve been trying to be lately” I guess as human beings we want to ‘fit in’ but if this means not being ourselves it’s just not worth the price.
