my banquet.

Haven’t posed in a while. trying to get back in the swing of things, this isn’t for any particular prompt. I used the bleach technique on the photo and used acrylic paints and stamps. Sorry for the bad scan.

I was having one of those days and the Stones tune Mother’s Little Helper kept playing over and over in my warped mind ;)
Knew it would be a fun spark for a journal entry and finally got around to playing with it today :)

Have a Happy Period. Now, it’s not for any prompt, but I keep seeing this ad and it is just weird. Or, maybe I’m weird. So I had to put it in my book. Maybe it comes under the category of annoyances? Either way, just the irony of it, it had to be done.

So we Painted it yellow Prompted by a weekend prompt to think about your childhood bedroom. I had a few different ones. This is when they moved me first into the big bedroom (no idea why) then into the attic, and we painted it yellow.

Color yellow Thinking about the yellow bedroom and it made me remember how I always thought my favorite color was blue, but I finally realized my favorite color is yellow (and that was many, many years after the yellow attic bedroom).
This is my Art Journal week 2. The prompt was about risks. I am not much of a risk taker…but once I took a huge risk. I was broken hearted and my life seemed as though it had been shattered in a million pieces. I felt like a failure and a fool, then came Jay. I met him in my I am a “tough Chick” phase where no one or nothing could penetrate my walls. But when I met him they all came down, and I made a choice to LOVE and Trust, and it is the most rewarding RISK I have ever taken.

Wait and See. Acrylic paints, pens, alphabet stamps, images, and a small glassine envelope to hold a few secrets…
“Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.”—Horace Mann
These pages are in response to the “Coming back to center” prompt…I took the portion of it where it suggested we revisit an old neighborhood, and this is what came of it. Thanks so much for looking!

Almost caught up now. Used some rusty pickle background paper and a variety of stamps and letter stickers. The Queen is cut out and raised on chipboard.

I know a lot of artists share this fascination but I just love old run down buildings, old windows and doors. They have so much history and seem to tell a story in and of themselves. I had a much harder time starting with a visual rather than words for some reason. Maybe I think more in words than pictures. I kept adding layers and sanding them off and used some magazine clippings that appealed to me. I put the words on the stair steps to relate to the little boy in the doorway and the bottom step says SAFETY. Not sure how it all goes together, but also like the idea of doorways and windows to other worlds etc. TFL!
