Final prompt spread
Mine is about letting go. This class has really helped me just get the art out without constantly censoring it. I’ve really enjoyed this experience and found it very freeing!

keep HOPE alive

I Just finished reading Lance Armstrong’s autobiography – really inspires HOPE – an amazing read!
Started with a photo of Lance from a sports magazine – from the Tour de France. I then covered the page with acrylic paints and matte gel medium.

Week 15 Stand Up
When we’re young
it’s expectedto need some help to stand.
When we’re older it seems weak to expect aid to withstand
our tough times. I’d like to be
a person who can admit that
I need a little help sometimes. just like MAX.

Week #10 - Wait & See?

Warning
Wait and see…have patience. It’s easier said than done, as many thousands of people found out just over a week ago. Still, there are so many unanswered questions; patience is running thin and people want answers. Yet I’m not sure any of us are prepared for the answers…I read an article in National Geographic from October 2004; an article that dropped my jaw and rendered me speechless. The article, titled “Gone With the Water”, is not political and it’s not hype…it is scientific research that predicted (with details) what we witnessed two weeks ago. If you’re interested in reading the article, I’ve scanned it…it will give you goosebumps.

sLudge... sLeep interrupted / aRt interrupted

sludge… sounds like schlump if that’s a word. in my case that describes how i feel sometimes. i have a full life: wife, mother-of-four, i work full-time outside the home. I’m going back to school part-time… if i could have a theme-song for my life the title would read ’ sleep interrupted ’.... yup, that’s a recurring theme in my life.
i squeeze in ART whenever I have a spare moment that the universe bestows on me… and often times my life’s theme song is “ART interrupted”...
sludge is the period inbetween where there’s a desire to “create” but the expression is vacant, creativity lies dormant…
and this is most devastating to my inner being

scanned an old postcard, reduced it and tore the edge (my favorite thing to do in art is to tear stuff), the G in sludge is a sticker that I sanded for a textured look

mulberry paper is really cool to layer in art
leaf is by “lacey leaves”

Week 14 Return
They say you can’t go back.
But I did. Last fall ‘04.
My grandparent’s home.
They’re gone ~ but the old
streetlight is still there.
And the dock where i sat
and dreamed my little
girl dreams. The draw
of the water is still
strong within me. It’s
the place I still reach
for when life is tough.
