Week 7 : Sludge
In record time, a digi entry – images of sludge, a bathing beauty, and a quote curtesy of Shimelle herself – because it said exactly what I feel sometimes.
Dive right in to that artistic sludge…

Marriage, of course, was what came to mind for this. My greatest alliance.

Some of it got a little wrinkly, and I’m trying to fix that now. Basically, what I did was take a bunch of clippings of graphic wallpaper and art from magazines and collage them with some images of a bride and groom wedding cake topper. The journaling to the right reads: “My greatest alliance has to be my marriage: love, trust, someone who puts up with my s**t…What more could a girl ask for?” At the top left of the page I added a quote from Antoine de Sainte-Exupery: “Only through the alliance of the one, working with and through the other, are great things born…”
Thanks for looking!
Loved this weeks prompt!!! The first quote that always springs to my mind is this one of George Michael’s and it fitted with the whole “one” theme. My “one” is myself. Which sounds selfish but if I’m unhappy, you can guarantee everyone around me is miserable!! Photo is solarised in a photo prog and lightly coloured with pencils. My darling wee Lamb helped me with the Jackson Pollock-esque background!! It’s blimmin’ hard to do an’ all!!!! Took all of 15 minutes and was so satisfying! :D

Thanks, Shimelle!! I’ve been regenerised and feeling mightily less sludgy!

Living down under – we are just starting winter – although winters in Sydney are not bad, to say the least – Shimelle’s prompt got me thinking about northern hemisphere summers (I grew up in the US mid-West) – remembering my childhood – thus the inclusion of a photo of myself, my sister and friends from our local pool – not a care in the world – my favourite colour – bright green – and a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, Drink the wild air…” I’m trying!
This isn’t quite what I had invisioned, but I still like how it turned out. I wanted to put more Utee on it, but remember I had used flamable glue, and was a bit scared of what would happend with the heat and the glue so skipped the Utee….LOL

This was fun, the random fish stamps mean nothing I just love that stamp for some reason.

Reading this I’m not all that exciting. LOL

phew! I am so behind! I haven’t even touched any of the “sparks” yet-but I am thinking about them :) Just gotta MAKE THE TIME to sit down and complete them.
Anyhow, this is my “home” entry. I just walked around my downstairs snapping pictures of things I think make my house my home-then journaled the “feelings” I associate with my home. Thanks for looking!
And angib, Look, I used a white pen ;) woo hoo!
the week six challenge has been the hardest for me to do this far in the challenge. i have been thinking about it all week and this is what i finally came up with. i guess the logic behind it is that for a really long time i have worked on jewelry, being a metalsmith, even got my degree in it. then my friend got me interested in scrapbooking. after i started making mini books and scrapbooking every photo i could get my hands on, i was hooked. couldnt get enough. the fact was i was getting burned out of making jewelry all the time, and not really making any money at it. this page is about that, about taking a break from one thing and becoming interested in something else.
I combined the technique with this weeks prompt also, I just skipped the coloring in part. I used a transparency from Magic Scraps. I adhered it to the page using some Heidi Swapp tape.
Thanks for looking!
I think that I have been in much sludge as of late. I have been creating… though not as much as I want to… but my main thing is that I just didn’t feel like posting. I know that we don’t have to… but I had the I want to hide under a rock kind of feeling for some reason… not really sure what is going on there… but when I read this week’s coming assingment I knew that I had to crawl out from under my rock… so here is some stuff and such that I have been working on. thank you for looking and thank you all for being inspiring and wonderful especially in times of great sludge…...
Here are some of my thoughts on the home assignment… I rambled with this a bit, but home to me is quite a lot of little things whirling around….

Some thoughts on risk…

And finally my favorite day…

Thanks so much for looking. Have a wonderful week.
