wings - week 8?

This is my (nearly) 3 year old wee lamb with rather pretty butterfly wings!! She loves this page “Mummy, I’m a FAIWY!!” and i’m loving the look of it but am stumped as to the actual journalling bit. Not like me. So, I thought I’d stick it up here anyway for your perusal (any wordy-type ideas, shout ‘em out!) as sometimes seeing things on screen flicks the old musal switch. Actually, it normally highlights eleventy jillion things I wish I’d done differently but still….......

Photo printed on regular cardstock (which my scanner seems to hate) and wings added manually (with glue, not a photo prog.). Butterfly was a photo downloaded from interweb. Paint, blossoms, ribbon….......words? Where has me muse gone!?!?!? She better not be down the pub watching Live8!!! Ooh, the grey bit at the top is overscan, the page finishes with the blue paint so the ribbon sticks out.

As always, TFL,

off the top of my head

what bugs me…off the top of my head…not much today…it’s the weekend and that’s the time to relax…hopefully it’s working…just tried to have some fun with this week’s challenge…I used some odds and sods down one side – pencils, watercolour crayons, paint, tissue paper -

ART created away from home

So I decided to create art away from home at a software conference I attended this week in Orlando, Florida. All I took was some blank journal pages, a few scrap pieces of paper, pens, and water color pencils (oh and glue stick & scissors).
On the way there on the plane I tore out interesting words, phrases, and images from magazines as I read them. Yes, the 2 young ladies sitting next to me were watching me. I’m sure they thought I was going to create a ransom note or something.

This is my Sludge layout – Just Change One Thing. I thought the quote was so funny – Stop suffering from Blahtosis – how appropriate and from a magazine also. This page was put together during an hour break I had by the pool. Those are palm trees I drew with my watercolor pencils and the salmander is not that great but he was there as well.
A nice lady brought me a complementary fruit cup as I was working on my layout !

This is my layout created on the flight home from the conference – yes – at 31000 feet. Again, just magazine clippings, watercolor and other pens, a couple of paper scraps, and glue.

This is my Annoyances layout – Does it Bother You – That’s a horse face / mouth. It was fun creating these away from home with different supplies !

Week 6 - Break

I have interpreted the word break to mean break free or breakthrough.

The image is of me on holiday in Spain last year, and to me it depicts me about to leave my ‘bars’ and break free. I have recently experienced a change in beliefs in regards to my fertility.

Background is angel hair, inked and chalked. Again, the angel hair reminds me of something you would need to break out of.

Journal pages....

Not really from a prompt…I was feeling frustrated so I just picked up my watercolor crayons and started to scribble. I felt so much better when I was done. :) Thanks for looking.

The Wing one...week 8 I think.

Working out of order, but I am on track. I wasn’t into the wing idea at first, but then i found this tracing from when we reworked one of my tatoos and decided they would be my wings…plus they were on vellum so it made it easier to attach them to a photo. the black outfit represents the body. The journaling is from Misprinted Type’s fonts. Used the vaseline technique in Claud Hel’s book. Hope you enjoy.

Week 9

Bad things…things that piss me off. This is just a current list. Come back tomorrow and I’ll have a bunch more for you, lol!

{home}

silly bird

Like many others, my home is a safe haven. I’m comfortable here. I know what to expect. But sometimes it’s too easy to stay in that comfort zone instead of stepping out to something new. Sometimes I feel too tied down to my routine of kids and laundry and balancing the checkbook. Once in awhile it’s good for me to go outside my usual boundaries. In fact, it’s absolutely refreshing.

Created with a mesh of acrylics, pages from an old book, watercolor crayons, stamps, and imagery.

Week 5 - Alliance

There is one really special allaince in my world, and that is my marriage. Enough said.

I am really pleased with this page. The journalling sums up my feelings on our relationship. The rose represents the flowers in my bouquet.

Week Two- Risk

Not much to say here on this one. It just signifies my feelings that I don’t have everything I need to take a risk and having everything actually neccessary. Thanks for letting me share.
