Re-learn spread

This is my spread for this week’s prompt. I collaged some old photos of myself . When the printer screws up I consider it divine intervention of some type so I leave it be. The photos are from when I was 6 and 7 and it says ” I think this is around the age I stopped feeling. I have had to re-learn how to feel so I could allow love in my life. Comfortably numb was more than a song to me.” I wanted to grow up fast so I could get out of there.” I guess you can surmise from this that I didn’t have the best family or the happiest childhood. I spent a large portion of my life numb not feeling anything. Learning to feel initially meant feeling all the bad feelings I had suppressed, but then eventually you get to the good stuff. Thanks for looking! And thanks to everyone for their comments thus far.

Weekend Sparkle

It was fun just doing a simple page and not worrying about using every inch of space. I got to try out my new Golden liquid acrylic paints that I picked up at a yard sale and have to say the higher quality paints are so much better than the cheap stuff I usually buy at Wal-mart. I wrote my ten things on sticky notes. The ten things on my mind yesterday were: Spiritual Protection, World Changes Afoot, Friends, Art, the children, my son going to summer camp, vacation, where I should work next? Money, and of course, what’s on t.v.??

thanks for looking!

spark ~ random thoughts

This one came together pretty quick. I took this jigsaw puzzle patterned paper, chalked it orange and chalked the part where I would put my text red. Added some lines with colored pencils, and sprayed it with workable fix. I have not used chalk in a looooong time, and had forgotten how messy it can be.

I've been busy

I did 2 more entries this morning when I was supposed to be busy getting dressed to go into Manhattan.

Here is my Balance entry for Week 5. Just some cardstock, stickers, patterned paper, pen and an Ink pad.

And I also did the weekend spark for today on random thoughts. Loved this and had loads of fun doing this super quick entry.

Favorite Day Spark Entry

Finally got to this entry and had so much fun finally sitting down and doing it. I actually think I am going to try and work on something else now too. since the creativity is flowing.

coffeetable/annoy&irk

This is the coffee table spark – I did it just for fun really since I don’t have a coffee table right now. It’s pretty self explanatory!

These two pages came from the things that annoy you prompt. I began with the ‘annoy’ page and got a bit carried away with the ranting, so had to carry on to the ‘irk’ page where there was more ranting interspersed with more serious things that tick me off! It was quite hard doing these pages because last week I was very ticked off and I just couldn’t have put all that down on paper!! I guess I still had some residual feelings from last week when I did these pages and I had to keep reigning myself in – as a result the pages lacked fluidity – anyway, never throw anything out eh!

lofty

This is my take on the lofty theme, inspired by the image of the dancing lady reaching up. It started life as the decorative part of an altered board book (writing ) journal and just went from there.

Shimelle's in London--is she okay?

Just concerned, hope she’s okay does anyone know for sure??

May Favorites

One finally post for the night…the past couple of months I have created pages that just list some of my favorite things for the month. This list will help me when I compose my mock christmas letter at the end of the year. It is mock because although I do write it I don’t ever send it out. Its more about wrapping up and recalling the year than it is about keeping everybody posted on my life happenings. I really write it to appease my guilt after I receive the anual christmas letter from and old friend of mine. I have to remind myself that my life is just as fabulous as hers, just different. So each month I try to think back about some of my favorites…events, cds, movies, etc. This is the page I created for May and I really loved the way it came out.

I glued a blank May calendar to the page then painted over it with watercolors. Next I added the magazine clipping of the flower. Finally I wrote in some favorites from the month like finally hearing Melissa Ethridge’s perfomance at the Grammys (stop my heart and make me pee my pants…it was that fabulous), my trip to Austin (I think I’m going to have to move there soon), the whole foods market in Austin (when I move the Austin that is where I’m going to live, I’m going to set up shop right in the produce section), Joss Stone (beautiful, soulful music), and the Garden State cd (absolute best cd I’ve purchased in a very long time, I can listen to it over and over all day and not get tired of it).

Now that I can post I can’t wait to get some more pages photographed and downloaded. I’ve completed the IRK prompt and I’m working on the WAIT AND SEE and TELL ME WHY prompts. More to come!

Oops Wrong Close Up

I meant to post this close up on my lofty post, not the close up of the angel from the sludge post. So sorry all!
