tax

It’s tax season in Australia – financial year ended 30 June – we have until 31 October to lodge our tax returns – so here we are in Sept – better get started…I’m determined to get it done…way before October…

I started my page with the cover of the tax guide – painted gesso over most of the page and then used oil pastels and ripped words from the guide and covered the page with matte gel.

Week 18 - not procrastinating

I’m not too great at following these prompts, but hey, gotta go with it!

Procrastinate

I think this is a record for me… I love to procrastinate. Someone (a shrink) told me once it was because I was a perfectionist… the longer i waited the more built in excuses I have. I just think I am lazy ;-)

Journaling reads:

What needs to be done

1. work contracts
2. orders shipped
3.catalog designed
4.bills
5. web page optimization
6. product development
7. more contracts
8. email
9. clean office
10. organize my life.

What I want to do

Week one - New Beginnings

Week one
I started very late on the art journal. I guess better late than never! This my first page about why I’m doing an art journal. I didn’t plan it but the journaling sort of goes in circles. If you start reading at the big arrow and read around the page, it will lead you back around to the beginning.

In Stitches!

What week was this one? Well, it was a blast going through some of my vintage crafting mags and using some of these ads—all about making some extra cash in your spare time at home :) This is a spread in my women’s studies altered book—had fun incorporating some embroidery stitches here, too.

this doesn’t fit in any of the weekly prompts – just thought i’d post it since it’s kinda art-journalish and I wanted to share…

Passion Entry

Living with passion…most times it’s a blessing and sometimes it’s a curse…yet I can’t imagine living my life without it!

coffee

small discoveries…this is one of my favourites – discovered during my college days – MANY years ago! yummm – my daily LARGE cappuccino with 2 sugars – an indulgence – helps kick start my morning.

For the background, I started with some script paper, brown acrylic paint mixed with texture paste – sugar packets glued down using matte medium – the word “coffee” I’ve had for a while – saw it in a weekend newspaper magazine and kept it – knew I’d use it one day.
